The hidden gem of Akrotiri is the sunset view from the Lighthouse, a 5 minutes driving distance from our Suites. Equally fascinating is the sunset view from the small Caldera Beach, in walking distance from the Suites.
The Medieval Kasteli is standing on the top of the village cliff, offering a nice walk back in time as it hides the mystery of a bygone era.
Small hidden beaches with crystal clear water are waiting to be explored and some small whitewashed churches are standing with their blue vaults anywhere you turn your eyes, at the most surprisingly unexpected spots.
Akrotiri’s Excavation, the prehistoric site, 20 minutes walking distance from our Suites, is classed as one of the most important settlements in the Mediterranean. The settlement was destroyed in the Theran eruption about 1627 BC and buried in volcanic ash, which preserved the remains of fine frescoes and many objects and artworks. From there you can catch a small taxi-boat to visit the famous Red and White Beaches.
Fira, the island’s capital is 15-20 minutes driving distance and Oia at around 35-40. The long Black Beach of Perissa –Perivolos is a 15 minutes drive.
